School-Based Health and Wellness
At HDNW, we support families by supporting children and youth. With school budgets tight, we help provide in-school nurses and mental health professionals.
STUDENTS are supported where they spend many of their days – in school! There is less time away from school and more assurance while in school.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS receive assurance that students have convenience access to health professionals, minimizing travel for parents and time away from their jobs. If unsure of whether the student should attend school, during the day or in the mornings, the student may be seen onsite to help the adult(s) involved make that decision.
Our school-based health services take place at schools in Alanson, Beaver Island, Boyne City, Boyne Falls, Central Lake, Charlevoix, Concord Academy of Petoskey, East Jordan, Ellsworth, Elk Rapids, Gaylord, Harbor Springs, Mancelona, and Pellston. The staff is focused on the prevention, early detection, and treatment of medical and behavioral concerns that can interfere with a student’s learning. The programs at each school are tailored to individual needs and the opportunities made possible through the funding.
No one will be denied services due to an inability to pay.
There are no out-of-pocket costs, regardless of income and family size.
