Immunizations

Protecting Futures

Getting vaccinated as an adult is important part of protecting yourself from serious illnesses now and in the future. Vaccines go through a lot of testing to make sure they're safe and work well. They're given at certain ages to give you the best protection against dangerous diseases.

HDNW offices are open Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm. Our Immunization Clinics vary from month to month in each county office. Clinics are located in Charlevoix, Boyne City, Bellaire, Mancelona, Gaylord, Petoskey/Harbor Springs, and Pellston. Please call 1-800-432-4121 to schedule an appointment.

Why Immunize?

Immunization is a safe and effective process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. Vaccines stimulate the body's own immune system to protect the person against subsequent infection or disease. Immunization is a proven tool for controlling and eliminating life-threatening infectious diseases and is estimated to avert between 2 and 3 million deaths each year. For more information on immunizations, visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, or the Immunization Action Coalition. For more information about Vaccine-Preventable Diseases, visit Child and Teen Vaccine-Preventable Diseases E-book.

For adults, vaccines and immunizations help prevent getting and spreading serious diseases that could result in poor health, missed work, medical bills, and not being able to care for family.

Ways To Pay

Immunizations do not have to be expensive. HDNW has special programs for immunizations. Medicaid and private insurance are also accepted.
