Raffle tickets for sale for 2008 18-foot Four Winns boat and trailer
Proceeds go to Hospice of Northwest Michigan

When Hospice of Northwest Michigan holds its annual auction benefit on June 6 at Castle Farms in Charlevoix this year, there will be added excitement at the end of the evening. That’s when they will draw the winning raffle ticket for a 2008 18-foot Four Winns H 180 boat and trailer.

“This new fundraiser will help us to care for people at end-of-life—especially those who have no insurance or very little income,” said Lynda Bockstahler, Director of Home Care & Aging at the Health Department of Northwest Michigan, who oversees hospice nursing, therapeutic, and spiritual services. “Raffle proceeds will cover hospice services for uninsured clients or for items not covered by insurance.” Hospice of Northwest Michigan does not turn anyone away because they are unable to pay for services, she said.

“The extra funds the boat raffle is generating will really help us make our clients more comfortable,” said Mary Robinson, Hospice Supervisor. “We’re very grateful to Four Winns for making the raffle possible.”

Only 300 $100 tickets will be sold. Winning ticket will be drawn on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 9:00 PM at the Hospice of Northwest Michigan annual benefit auction. Winner does not need to be present to win. Tickets are available at www.hospicenwm.org.

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan is mandated by the Michigan Public Health Code to promote wellness, prevent disease, provide quality healthcare, address health problems of vulnerable populations, and protect the environment for the residents and visitors of Antrim, Charlevoix, Emmet, and Otsego counties.
