No Family Health Services at Health Department April 27 – May 1
Staff will attend MDCH software training to improve service delivery

(April 22, 2009) Family Health Services at the Health Department of Northwest Michigan offices in Bellaire, Mancelona, Charlevoix, Petoskey/Harbor Springs, and Gaylord will not be available on Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1 while staff is trained to use new software required by the Michigan Department of Community Health.

The WIC Nutrition & Education Program, Immunizations, Family Planning, Children’s Special Health Care Services, Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program, and Northern Health Plan services will not be available during this five-day period.

Dental Clinics North, Environmental Health, Home Care, and Hospice of Northwest Michigan services will not be interrupted.

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan is mandated by the Michigan Public Health Code to promote wellness, prevent disease, provide quality healthcare, address health problems of vulnerable populations, and protect the environment for the residents and visitors of Antrim, Charlevoix, Emmet, and Otsego counties.
